Registration Deadline for 2024 MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma Regional Competitions is December 15

OKLAHOMA CITY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 — — Registration is now open for four regional MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma competitions. The registration deadline is December 15.
MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma is the state chapter of MATHCOUNTS, the mathematics counterpart to the national spelling bee. The presenting sponsor is American Fidelity.
The Competition Series has four levels of competition—school, chapter, state and national. Each level of competition is comprised of four rounds—Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown Round. Altogether the rounds are designed to take about three hours to complete. Regional winners will advance to the 41st Annual MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma State Competition on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Oklahoma City University.

The deadline for regular registration is December 15.
Registration is open to Oklahoma teachers and parents between now and December 15, 2023. The competition is open to students in grades 6th-8th. Eligible schools include public, private, charter, virtual and home schools.
Winners will advance to the 41st Annual MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma state competition on March 2, 2024, at Oklahoma City University. The top four finishers will represent Oklahoma at the national math competition in May in Washington D.C. They will be coached by the winning team’s coach with special consullting by Dr. Harold Brooks, Senior Scientist with the National Severe Storms Laboratory.
Cost
The cost of registration is $30.00 per competitor for schools; however, discounts are available to schools with 40 percent of students on free or reduced lunch or to schools that receive school wide Title I funding.
Kits Available + T-shirts
Every registered school receives the School Competition Kit to run its program for the year. As many students as are interested can participate in practices and the School Competition.
How Students Can Compete As Individuals Without Being Part of a Team, IF…
A student may register as a non-school competitor (NSC) only if their official school of record is not registering for the Competition Series and will not support student participation in the program through the school. Registration is $70 per NSC.
In addition, MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma participants will receive the official 2024 MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma T-shirt, a gift from American Fidelity.

MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma is a program of the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation, which is chaired by Jimmy Sparks, P.E., Olsson. MATHCOUNTS co-chairs are Diana Bittle, Senior VP and Chief Information Officer, American Fidelity, Oklahoma City, and Gaylon Pinc, P.E., Owner/Senior Environmental Manager, Oklahoma Program Management Group, Tulsa.

Central OK Region
The Central Oklahoma Region serves Oklahoma City, Moore, Norman, Edmond as well as all of Canadian, Cleveland, Garvin, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Murray, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Payne and Pottawatomie Counties.
