Oklahoma education is welcoming a new leader. Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Lindel Fields as the state’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Fields is no stranger to Oklahoma classrooms. He spent over a decade leading Tri County Tech in Bartlesville, where he built a reputation for innovation, strong student outcomes, and a culture of success. After retiring, he launched “Your Culture Coach,” a leadership program designed to help schools and organizations strengthen teamwork and positive learning environments.
With a background rooted in CareerTech and a heart for students, Fields brings a unique perspective to statewide education. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, practical problem-solving, and preparing young people for both college and the workforce.
Oklahoma educators and families can look forward to his steady focus on student achievement and his passion for creating schools where both teachers and students thrive.
As Fields steps into this new role, there is a sense of optimism across the state. His experience, combined with his dedication to building strong learning communities, makes him well-positioned to guide Oklahoma education into its next chapter.
