Position Overview
The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation (OEF) is seeking a creative, highly capable intern to support film production, digital storytelling, public relations and events for the Foundation’s STEM education programs.
Special events and film and video production will be a major focus of this position. The intern will help OEF capture the stories of Oklahoma students, engineers, volunteers and programs and turn that material into polished, engaging content for social media, public relations and organizational storytelling.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a student or emerging professional who can take a project from concept and filming through interviewing, editing and final production.
Responsibilities
Film OEF programs, competitions and special events using professional or high-quality mobile video techniques.
Produce polished, high-caliber short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and other digital platforms.
Conduct on-camera interviews with students, engineers, educators, volunteers, sponsors and community leaders.
Identify compelling stories and develop them into engaging video content.
Edit footage, interviews, music, graphics and other elements into finished video productions.
Help build and strengthen OEF’s presence on TikTok and Instagram through consistent, engaging video storytelling.
Capture high-quality photography and video for public relations, marketing and archival use.
Assist with special events, social media content, event publicity and other public relations projects.
Provide on-site communications and media support during OEF programs and special events.
Organize and maintain OEF’s photo and video files.
Submit a brief weekly report documenting hours worked, projects completed and work in progress.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability or strong experience in videography, video editing and digital content creation. Candidates should be comfortable conducting interviews and working independently.
Experience creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels or similar platforms is strongly preferred. Candidates should have a good eye for composition, sound, pacing and storytelling and be capable of producing professional-quality finished content.
Students or emerging professionals in film, broadcasting, journalism, public relations, communications, digital media or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Office space will be provided as needed; however, the intern must provide their own laptop/computer, camera, video, audio, editing and other equipment necessary to complete assigned work.
Reliable transportation is required for OEF programs and events. Mileage accrued while on assignment is reimbursable up to 75 miles per month.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, including event materials and production equipment.
Schedule & Compensation
Term: November 2, 2026 – May 14, 2027
Hours: Approximately 10–20 hours per month
Compensation: $25 per hour, paid as a 1099 independent contractor
Flexible weekday hours based on availability
Availability is required on most, if not all, of the following 2027 dates: January 31, February 6, February 13, February 20, February 24, February 25, February 27, March 6, and May 3. Please address your availability on these dates or lack thereof in your letter.
Brief weekly activity and hours reports are required
Monthly invoices are due on the last day of each month
Approved invoices will be paid within 10 business days
