Our Programs
Founded in 1975, the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation was the state’s first nonprofit with a STEM mission. For 50 years, we’ve provided STEM learning experiences and adventures for Oklahoma students such as the Oklahoma Engineering Fair and MATHCOUNTS. We also have an endowed scholarship for college students pursuing degrees in engineering.
ENGINEERING FAIR
The Oklahoma Engineering Fair, now in its 46th year, is organized and directed by the OEF. It is held during Engineers Week every February and brings together students, teachers, professors, and the business community to give students an introduction to engineering and related principles.
MATHCOUNTS
Since 1983, the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation has hosted the Oklahoma MATHCOUNTS program. Pooling resources from engineering and other STEM-minded industries, OEF has been able to engage thousands of Oklahoma students in this upper-level middle school math competition.
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
OEF awards up to four $2,000 collegiate scholarships for students pursuing a degree in an accredited engineering curriculum in Oklahoma. Applicants must have enough credit hours to qualify as a junior and they must attend one of six Oklahoma colleges or universities.
YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
The OEF Youth Advisory Board was launched in 2023. The group provides independent advice and recommendations to OEF staff and trustees on how to improve, enhance and grow its programs and increase the number of students entering college engineering programs.
GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY
OEF monitors local, state and federal policies and state and federal legislation that impacts STEM education in Oklahoma. We advocate for policies and legislation that improves and/or increases STEM education in the state. We are especially focused on math and engineering education. We are currently laying the groundwork for a formal, grassroots advocacy program called STEMVOCATES.
ABOUT OEF
Please take a moment to learn about our wonderful board of trustees. We are led by leaders of Oklahoma’s top companies and engineering firms including American Fidelity, Boeing, Freese and Nichols, Leidos, Olsson, Phillips 66 and Whites Energy Service.
Also, we encourage anyone to check out our financials as well as our 2024 CLEAN audit.
