BACKGROUND

The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation was founded in 1976 by the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers as a nonprofit to advance the engineering profession and strengthen Oklahoma’s future through engineering education, outreach, and workforce development. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees. Trustee selection is highly selective, bringing together leaders who are ready to make a meaningful impact on engineering education and workforce development in Oklahoma. 

OPEN: November 1, 2026  | DEADLINE: December 31, 2026

TRUSTEE REQUIREMENTS

  • Personal Annual Contribution: $500 minimum
  • Participation: Attend quarterly Board of Trustees meetings and occasional planning meetings (in-person preferred; virtual available)
  • Event Engagement: Volunteer at the Oklahoma Engineering Fair or a regional or state MATHCOUNTS competition
  • Fundraising Capacity: Ability and willingness to help secure corporate, government, or foundation support, ranging from $1,000 to $20,000
  • Professional Expertise: Bring relevant experience in areas such as engineering, education, business, finance, legal, or related fields
  • Ambassadorship: Serve as an advocate for the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation within your professional and community networks

TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership & Fiduciary Oversight: Serve as a fiduciary of OEF, including stewardship of the Foundation’s endowment and investment funds
  • Strategic Governance: Provide oversight and direction to ensure the organization advances its mission and long-term vision
  • Program Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of OEF programs and services
  • Scholarship Selection: Participate in the review and selection of endowed engineering scholarship recipients
  • Fundraising Support: Actively support and advance fundraising efforts that sustain and grow OEF programs and initiatives
  • Public Engagement: Enhance the Foundation’s visibility and credibility across Oklahoma
  • Board Development: Assist in identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new trustees
  • Advocacy & Awareness: Help increase public awareness of engineering education and workforce development initiatives supported by OEF
