Teacher Stipends Available for Math Clubs in Southwest Oklahoma!

In an effort to reinvigorate interest and participation in MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma‘s Southwest Region, the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation, in partnership with the McCasaland Foundation, is offering up to five teacher stipends to fund up to five new math clubs in the following counties: Beckham, Caddo, Carter, Comanche, Cotton, Greer, Grady, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Love, Tillman and Washita Counties.

Stipends for new math clubs total $500 per year payable in one lump sum directly to teachers on or before May 15, 2025.

Additionally, current MATHCOUNTS Coordinators in the Southwest region who are currently managing formal math clubs at their schools, are also eligible for the annual stipend of $500, payable directly to teacher in one lump sum on or before May 15, 2025.

Also, teachers may apply for travel grants to help offset te cost of travel to MATHCOUNTS regional and state competitions. Grants are up to $200.00 and may be requested through a short application. 

 

Requirements

  • Dedicated interest in math education and to the MATHCOUNTS program. 
  • Commitment to participate in the Southwest Oklahoma Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition (January-Feburary 2025)
  • Establish a school math club that closely follows the National Math Club model provided by the MATHCOUNTS. Free materials are available. Click here to learn more.
  • Provide short monthly status updates via an easy online form or simply by email. 
  • NOTE: A 1099 is not required because compensation is less than $600.00
